pitch pot

Making my pitch pot took time and technique. First I made the round pot using my fingers to open it and my thumb toround out the edges. Then i made the design around it with a needle, which constisted of over-lapped lines. Finally I dipped the pot in the high-fire glaze and put it in the kiln. This was my end result which I really liked. Making this pitch pot was not the most difficult, yet it did take time and dedication.

wire sculpture

This is my wire sculpture which I made using wire, paper machee, and paint.  The sculpture took about 2 weeks.  The difficult part about making the sculpture was that the wire was tough to work with, it was dirty, and very messy with the paper machee.  It took a week to dry and then finally paint.  I chose the color pink for my butterfly because it contrasts with the black wire.  I realized it was harder than I imagined.  This project was my hardest thus far.
